Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal data this website handles. In short: there are no accounts, no advertising and no analytics. The only personal data I receive is what you choose to send me through the contact form.
Who is responsible
I am: Andres Garcia, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I am the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach me through the contact form on this website.
What I collect
Through the contact form: the name, email address, subject and message you type in. I use them only to read and answer your message.
Automatically: like any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. I do not use this data to identify or profile you.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies and has no analytics or advertising trackers. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. That value stays on your device and is never sent to me.
Why I use your data
To answer the message you send me and, if you are asking about working together, to take steps you asked for before any agreement. My legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying to the people who contact me, and those pre-contract steps. I do not sell your personal data and I do not use it for marketing.
Who else handles it
Your message is delivered to my inbox through an email delivery service (Resend), and the site runs on Cloudflare. They process data on my behalf to provide those services, and may do so outside the European Economic Area, relying on the safeguards the law requires for such transfers. I share your data with no one else unless the law requires it.
How long I keep it
I keep a message for as long as I need it to deal with your request and any work that follows from it. Messages that lead nowhere I aim to delete within 12 months. Hosting logs are kept by the provider for the short period it sets.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to receive a copy of it. Send me a message through the contact form to use any of these rights. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
I take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data. The contact form is sent over an encrypted connection and checked for spam without storing anything about you beyond the message itself. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot promise absolute security.
Links to other sites
Links to other sites, such as GitHub and LinkedIn, lead to services with their own privacy policies. I am not responsible for how they handle your data.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the latest revision.
Contact
